Yifan is from Bengbu, China, which is a small city not far from Shanghai. He graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a B.A. in Chemistry and received his M.S. degree from NYU in Chemistry. At NYU, Yifan did research with Dr. Diao’s group, where he synthesized chiral BINAM ligand and benzoxazole derivatives. He is currently a third year working on using a variety of 1,6-enynes to expand the substrate scope of the asymmetric Pauson-Khand reaction under the assistance of chiral phosphorous ligands. In his free time, Yifan enjoys hiking, cooking, camping, traveling, and playing badminton.
